I have an Amazon Parrot at home that seem to life up its tail at me everytime I touch him/her? I am not sure maybe some sexual behavor. I was wondering if there is a way i can tell if its a male or female. i should also add that I am the only person that can touch the bird. If my brothers try to touch him/her tryes to bite. I got this bird about one year ago from a friend of a friend so I dont know much about its history.

My friend has an Amazon who is grouchy. I know that they can be that way after they hit maturity. But will they always be nippy or can you retrain the bird to not bite?

I was just wondering, b/c I’m thinking about adopting a retired breeder amazon parrot. The adoption center owner said he isn’t a pet b/c he used to be a breeder amazon, he also said he isn’t friendly with men b/c he gets jealous of men when women are handling him. So… I was wondering if this habit is easily broken or why it even happens? ~Thanx~!

I have an 8 month old orange wing amazon. He has quite the personality. I play with him daily. Yet I cannot get him to step up or not squak at me the minute I get near his cage. I am firm but always loving and caring. I want him to be more receptive to my affection but still know I am the boss.

I received an Amazon 2 days ago and the bird absolutely stinks of urine bad. I have given her 2 different baths but cannot seem to get her to stay in long enough to do anything? Is there some kind of soap or something that is not harmful to Parrots that I could use on her, or a powder or something? Please help.
